Yeah, my grandma and mom made a similar kind of tomato sauce meatballs (also no rice) that they served over potatoes. Too bad their recipes are the &quot;add a handful of this and a pinch of that&quot; type so they&#039;re basically useless to me. The little I do know was self-taught using websites such as AllRecipes and RecipeZaar.</description>

		<description>My mother used to make a meatball - tomato soup dish that she served over potatoes (though I&#039;m pretty sure she never used rice in the meatballs!).  Probably still does, for all I know!  (And yes, she&#039;d always brown the meatballs first, then drain off the meat before adding the soup/sauce.)  

I always thought she&#039;d just made that up.  Who knew?  

Everyone loved it - including our Newfoundland, who discovered that she could, in fact, reach the stovetop - and stole a meatball right out of the hot frying pan!</description>
